The Vice-Chancellor, Peter University, Rev.Fr. Prof. Chukwuemenam Emma Umezinwa has led Aguata youths through deep thinking about life’s perspectives at at a recent event held for Aguata youths at Somuna Hotel Ekwulobia.

The event which was a luncheon for the four sets of best of Aguata students, featured about fifty youths who had traveled at different times to Lagos, Ghana, South Africa and Kigali,Rwanda as part of the great legacies of the Mayor of Aguata, Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike’s Youth Arise Programme.

Speaking during the programme the Vice-Chancellor opened the eyes of the youth not only to the importance of knowledge but also to the supreme necessity of wisdom which guides every knowledge. "Whereas knowledge wins you a living, wisdom wins you a happy life" he said. He reminded them of the great privilege and exposure they received as well as the attendant sense of responsibility to give something back to Aguata. He told them to have their eyes fixed not merely on education which merely provides them the torch which makes those around them see. He advised them to seek the transformation by which education brings enlightenment. For him, one who is enlightened needs no torch anymore. He becomes the light.

According to one of the youths who felt touched and enlightened by the VC’s deep teaching, he said that out of over twenty years that he had spent on earth; three years in Nursery, 6 years in Primary, 6 years in Secondary and 5 years in the University and throughout his 4th and final year in Federal University of Technology Owerri, (FUTO) he was thought by a good number of professors, including the most celebrated Shell Prof. Oba of Petroleum Engineering Department in Futo., "Rev. Fr. (Prof) Emmanuel Umezinwa, the VC of Peter University gave me a completely new perspective of what professorship and intelligence is".

He further said that "Fr. Umezinwa is an absolute genius", one who can be described as an embodiment of divine wisdom.

Further more, in an humorous state, he said “ Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike did us Wayo”noting that Dr. Chibueze Ofobuike served for a total of four years in Aguata, two years as a TC chairman and two years as a Mayor within which he hosted “AGUATA YOUTHS ARISE” a couple of times, hosted a countless number of summits and leadership conferences but he did not invite Rev. Fr. (Prof) Emmanuel Umezinwa to speak to them and only did that on the 90th minute of the game -Just a few days to the expiration of his beautiful tenure as the Mayor of Aguata, wondering why he kept the best for the last.

He further emphasized that Fr. Umezinwa spoke for about 28minutes, and for those 28 minutes, he said things he had never read nor heard in 20 years of his life, noting that he spoke to his soul and spirit and expressing belief that such words of wisdom can only be divinely revealed.
