Peter University has successfully concluded its two-week Skills Acquisition Program for the 2026/2027 academic session, with students completing intensive training across various practical and entrepreneurial skill areas.

The program, which commenced earlier in September, featured training in shoe making, barbing, hair styling, fish farming, solar installation, CCTV camera installation, computer repairs, AI automation, and graphics design, among others.

Students were allowed to select their preferred areas of interest and underwent hands-on training throughout the two-week program. At the closing event held on Friday, September 25, 2026 the students showcased some of the products and skills acquired during the training.

Speaking at the event, the Vice-Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Prof. Chukwuemenam Emmanuel Umezinwa, reaffirmed the University's commitment to equipping students with practical skills alongside their Degree certificate. He reiterated his vision that every student of Peter University should master at least four skills before graduation as a part of the curriculum requirements

The Vice-Chancellor encouraged the students to remain committed to continuous learning and practice, stressing the importance of making the acquired skills useful beyond the training period.

Although the two-week program has officially ended, students will continue to have access to their respective skill areas for further learning, practice, and mentoring, providing them with opportunities to develop greater proficiency in their chosen fields.
